Dr. Ioannidou has a bachelor degree in environmental management and natural resources obtained in 2003. She obtained her Ph.D in the University of Western Macedonia in 2010 focused on the study of “Preparation of Advanced Materials for Hydrogen Storage”. From 2012 until now she is a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Institute of Nanosciencience and Nanotechnology of NCSR “Demokritos”, Athens, Greece. Her activity is focused on synthesis and characterization of thermoelectric materials, hydrogen storage materials and magnetic materials using microwave technology. During her research she also won the third prize through a business plan developed in the Contest of Innovative Business Ideas, where her group presented the company «Materials and Hydrogen Technologies SA».
Dr. Niarchos, former Director and President of the Board of NCSR “Demokritos”, is physicist and holds the position of the Head of Research at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of NCSR “Demokritos”, with a wide experience on the study of magnetic and superconducting materials for applications to energy production and storage, information storage, sensors and micro-systems, development and construction of pioneer devices, as well as in the transfer of knowledge in Greece and in EU. He is the author and co-author of more than 450 publications, more than 6500 citations and has managed more than 30 National and EU projects with a budget of approximately 15 M. EURO. He had served as advisor for Greek Government , NATO and the EC and hold 5-patents and in charge of the innovation policy.
Dr G. Giannopoulos obtained his diploma in Physics from the University of Athens and his Master’s degree from the National Technical University of Athens in “Microsystems and Nanodevices”. He obtained his PhD in magnetic recording in 2013 from NSCR “Demokritos” in collaboration with the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina. During his PhD thesis he participated in the European project TERAMASTOR, while his main research interest is focused on magnetic materials and applications. Currently he is involved in the EU project REFREEPERMAG in the Institute of Nanosciencience and Nanotechnology of NCSR “Demokritos”, towards the fabrication of rare earth free permanent magnets as post doctoral fellow.
Our Business and Administrative Office
Filotas Niarchos was born in Athens, Greece. He graduated from Athens College, he obtained his BSc Degree from the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Athens and his MA from the Faculty of International Relations , Queen Mary University of London. He has worked in several companies during his University years and has fulfilled his army service by serving the Hellenic Navy between 2015-2016. He is the Youth Committee’s President of the International Scientific Association of Ancient Greek Philosophy from 2013. Ηis scientific interests include Politics, International Relations, Website Designing/Movie Making and Marketing. He is now working as a Business Operations Director at AMEN Technologies and he is responsible for the Internship Program of AMEN Technologies -STUDA.
